FFXIV Shadowbringers Launched Today!
The long-awaited expansion to Final Fantasy XIV is finally here! Players get their chance to create characters from two new genderlocked races: the physically imposing lion-men called Hrothgar and female-only, rabbit-eared Viera. There’s also an opportunity to play the two new jobs – Dancer and Gunbreaker.
Shadowbringers Story
In the new storyline, heroes leave Eorzea and its political conflicts to go to a completely different, but weirdly familiar realm. The First Reflection of Hydalean is one of the imperfect copies of the “main” world of FFXIV. This parallel reality is currently consumed by an apocalyptic light and most of its inhabitants already accepted the incoming demise. To find out more about it you’ll have to play the game and discover more of The First and its wonderful locations.
Shadowbringers Challenges
There are also new opportunities for players to test their skills and maybe get some valuable loot if they succeed. Besides nine instanced dungeons, there will also be two new Raids. The first one is an 8-players adventure heavily connected to the Flood of Light. The second is an Alliance Raid, which means it’s designed to challenge a group of 24 players. It’s called YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse and it’s a heavily stylized, technologically advanced location.
