Who is Brimstone

Brimstone is an old muscular man that wears a soldier uniform and a red beret. On his face, you can find a thick beard of a medium length and a mustache. The greyness on both of them shows that he has lived through quite a lot, but the muscles that look out from the sleeves of the shirt are letting everyone know that he isn't a geezer just yet. There is also one main feature that distinguishes him from the rest of the characters- it's a digital bracer which he uses as a portable command center for his orbital arsenal.

Brimstone is a seasoned soldier that also goes by the codename of Sarge. He can call down smokescreens from the air that cover every vital spot on the map - after all, he is the Controller. Since his orbital command is what provides the utility for Brimstone - he can call down his abilities from a safe distance and support his team while hiding from plain sight. The same machine also allows him to call down deadly Orbital Strike that demolishes everything in a large area. Sarge is not defenseless without the help of his spaceship as he can also throw stimpacks that give the rapid-fire for him and his team members or shoot incendiary grenades that burn the ground beneath them.

Brimstone’s abilities

As most of the agents in the game, Brimstone uses two basic abilities, which are rechargeable in the shop after every round, one iconic ability that can be recovered during the rounds, and an ultimate that is being charged by killing other players.

C - Stim Beacon / Costs: 100 Credits / Uses: two

Upon clicking a C key, Brimstone equips a Stim Beacon. By clicking on the LMB, the player can drop it in front of the character. The beacon gives rapidfire buff to every team member around it. It's useful to know that Stim Beacon doesn't need a line of sight to give a buff so even nearby allies that hide behind walls but are still on the radius will receive this special effect.

Stim Beacon is an ability that provides lots of utility for the team when used correctly. Since it isn't as "spectacular" as most of the agent skills, a Stim Beacon is often overlooked.

How to use: Sarge has two charges of Stim Beacon. Moreover, those are incredibly cheap and last for quite some time. Use one of them during your first peeks at enemy locations, and save another for the main push. Make sure to throw it at places where more players will be able to benefit from it. You don't have to stand above the highlighted zone to receive a rate of fire buff though it persists for a second or two after leaving the circle.

Q - Incendiary / Costs: 300 Credits / Uses: one

Upon clicking the Q key, Brimstone equips a grenade launcher. By pressing LMB player can shoot a grenade that combusts burning ground beneath it and everyone near the location where it landed. It deals high damage over time to anybody who stands on it.

Incendiary is just a "Molotov" in the form of the incendiary grenade. It is often used by the players to block off paths.

How to use: Since the Incendiary is a grenade, it can bounce off a wall before exploding. This means that you should avoid using it directly towards an enemy. Position yourself to reach a choke point where the enemy hides and shoots it from behind the cover to make the enemy run away. After it explodes, peek to see if you have caught anybody in flames, and land a bullet in the enemy head as they flee. The range of this grenade is quite long so you don't have to worry about it exploding mid-air.

E - Sky Smoke / Costs: 1st - 0 , 2nd and 3rd - 100 each / Uses: three

Upon clicking on the E key, Brimstone equips a tactical map. With LMB, he can mark up to three locations where he wants his smoke screens to land. With RMB, he can confirm the launch of the smoke bombs from the sky so that they will land at the targeted locations.

Sky Smokes is Brimstone's signature ability that allows him to block off a large part of the enemy's vision. Since smoke positions can be marked from a long-distance, Brimstone doesn't have to reveal his location to land them where he wants to. It is one of the best skills in the game and has three long-lasting charges that can be used aggressively and defensively.

How to use: Sky Smoke is crucial not only for Brimstone but also for his teammates. Try to use it to block off chokepoints when your team moves to the bombsite or rotates around the map. When you are on the defending side, make sure to block off main routes to the bomb sites. Always purchase Sky Smoke charges, and don't waste it before your team decides to make a move. Play with your team and use Sky Smokes that you have got not only for yourself but as much for others.

X - Orbital Strike / Cost: 6 charges / Uses: one

When you click on the X key, Brimstone equips a tactical map. By marking a spot with LMB, he releases a devastating Orbital Strike after a very brief delay on the target area. This ultimate ability deals severe damage to anyone caught within the blast.

Orbital Strike is one of the best ultimates in the game. It’s also the reason why many players have chosen Brimstone as their leading agent. It has multiple uses as it can be used aggressively, defensively as a zoning tool, or as a damaging ability.

How to use: On the attack, Orbital Strike is often saved for the time after the Spike plant. Brimstone can hide and deny enemy teams the ability to defuse the bomb when they come near it. Since the laser lasts for a few seconds, it often leads to won rounds in that scenario. On the defense, when you’re sure where the enemy team is, you can use it to get a couple of free frags before they can react. It is a really great tool with high potential however you have to keep it for crucial points. Wait patiently for the right moment and set it up to win rounds.

Brimstone excels at supporting his team. Sky Smoke can block enemy vision. Stim Beacon increases the speed of shooting, Incendiary blocks paths, and Orbital Strike not only damages but also denies large zones from the enemy team. With such a seasoned soldier, all of your games should be a breeze. It doesn't matter if you are on the attacking or the defending side - every team should utilize all of Brimstone's abilities.

To win while playing this agent, make sure that you use all of your skills before you or the enemy enters the site. Throw a Stim Beacon, follow it up with Incendiary on the main camping spot, and finish off with smoke screens to block the enemy vision. That combo will make entering a site easy and defending even more so.
